Today I’m sharing images of beautiful Debbie Carlisle bride Rachael, who rocked a gorgeous Hollywood red-carpet look in one of my handmade birdcage veils for her Scottish wedding.
Rachael's modern timeless look was inspired by her style icon Hailey Beiber - as well as a TikTok video showing my mask veils - in black - worn by bridesmaids for a sophisticated modern luxe look.
Iconic and Unforgettable Style
Rachael’s choice of a mask birdcage veil was about more than complimenting her modern timeless bridal gown - it was about embracing an unforgettable style. "It’s such an iconic look that no one will forget!" Rachael said. Rachael’s birdcage veil was also the perfect finishing touch for her timeless, elegant and romantic celebration at the stunning Old Dr Bells Baths.
Hailey Beiber Birdcage Veil Inspiration
Rachael said: “I chose the birdcage veil after seeing a TikTok of one of your birdcage veils in black on a bridesmaid and thought it was such a sophisticated elegant look. I hope birdcage veils will become more trendy as they just look phenomenal! All the biggest Hollywood stars have worn birdcage veils. One of my biggest style inspirations ever is Hailey Bieber and she has also rocked a birdcage veil previously for the Met Gala. It’s such an iconic look that no one will forget!”
The Perfect Choice For a Gown With Back Details
Rachael’s Evie Young wedding gown was a big part of why she chose a birdcage veil for her bridal look. She wore the "Rae" gown by Evie Young, a design that was classic bridal with a modern twist. "I wanted something timeless and classic bride, but with a twist," Rachael explained, “and this was the perfect dress”. The gown came with a stunning cape and pearl train attached to the back, making for an unforgettable and sophisticated red-carpet-worthy silhouette. Rachael added: “My wedding dress had its most character at the back and I felt a normal flowing veil would have hidden the features of the back of the dress.”
A Memorable Walk Down the Aisle
Rachael’s look made for an iconic entrance as she walked down the aisle. Rachael said: “One of my most memorable moments was walking down the aisle to Now We Are Free by Hans Zimmer and seeing my husband at the other end. Also the feeling of all my close family and friends just being there for us when I arrived was something I will not forget!”
The Personal Touch
Supporting small businesses was a key priority for Rachael throughout her wedding planning. "I used small businesses for the cake, flowers, etc, and it was important to do the same for my birdcage veil," she said. Rachael appreciated the personal touch of being able to reach out to me directly to discuss her vision and get the veil exactly how she wanted it.
"The fact I was able to email you and ask about sizes, as I was worried it was too big on some other people, and you got the exact size right for the way I wanted it styled meant I got the dream look I wanted," she explained.
The mask veil Rachael chose comes in two sizes - long or short. She chose the long version which allowed the veil to cover more of her hair for an elevated modern yet classic look.
Rachael’s Advice for Future Brides
