On the search for boho wedding hair accessories inspiration?
Those of you with Rapunzel-style locks will be spoiled for choice as there’s an abundance of boho wedding hairstyles for long length hair. Question is, are you looking to keep things soft and simple or go all-out bohemian queen?!
If the latter, nothing makes a stronger statement than my Katya intertwined hair vine (above). Inspired by intricate macrame and braiding techniques, this spectacular floral-adorned piece can be worn across the forehead with tumbling waves or cascading curls or even wrapped around a ‘messy’ bun. If you’re craving a botanical look but with slightly less impact, my Astrid hairvine (below) wedding comb also fits the boho bill and can easily be styled in the back of an updo for a more elegant look or worn across the forehead with your hair down for a festival style statement.
Textured braids and plaits of all types - French, Dutch, fishtail, Celtic - are intrinsically boho and perfect for breezy, laidback brides. The dream boho wedding hair accessory, in this case, is a flexible wedding hair vine that can be woven through these beautifully relaxed styles, such as my Celine and India Y-hair vines (below) which I designed specifically for the job! But if a braid is a bit too fussy for you, they work equally well with a low, loose ponytail, long loose locks, or a relaxed half-up half-down hairstyle, framing the side of the head and trailing freely down your tresses.
Pretty wedding hair pins are a perfect pair for plaits - my muted Daisy or Minna flower hairpins are ideal for festival style brides, while my sparkling Star hairpins are the perfect bridal accessory for celestial boho babes. Simply scatter through your braided style or loose locks to reflect your carefree spirit.
If you’re opting for a bohemian updo - be it an undone chignon, braided bun or textural and twisted masterpiece - many of my bridal headbands and vines can be worn in the front as a tiara or browband; pinned to the back of the head, or wrapped around a bridal top knot or bun. My Sylvie floral hair vine wedding comb and Evie vine are amazing for adorning updos at the back of the head, while my Isabella, Daisy and Star ribbon tie headband hair vines are simple yet striking options for framing the front of the head.
If you’re planning a half-up half-down style, or an updo with lots of loose tumbling trestles around the face, my top bohemian pick would have to be my popular Katarina wedding hair vine. This super stunning braided piece features delicately carved mother of pearl flowers dusted with gorgeous crystals and, in the silver version, tiny freshwater pearls. It has the versatility to be worn as a head-turning bridal crown or wedding tiara or can be pinned to the side or back of the hair for a more delicate look.
If you haven't decided on your bridal hairstyle, you could pick your boho wedding hair accessories to complement your choice of wedding venue. Brides marrying at a relaxed rural setting, such as a barn, farm or meadow, could choose my India or Elizabetta wedding headbands, complete with light trailing ribbons that can easily be removed so the trailing headpiece can be pinned in the back of the head or down the side of a plait. These designs are a stunning jewellery alternative to a fresh bridal flower crown and can be treasured long beyond the big day. Or, for the best of both worlds, team your jewelled headband with a fresh floral crown for the ceremony, then later, when the blooms start to wilt, the crown can be removed, leaving just the hair vine for a second bridal look come evening.
Boho luxe options for those taking their vows within the grounds of a country estate or other more formal setting can be found in my dazzling Scarlett hair vine comb or Isadora wedding browband. Both of these boho wedding hair accessories feature natural floral detailing, but the luxury is taken up a level using high lustre crystal and plush pearl adornments resulting in glamorous, fairy-tale vibes.
If you’ve chosen an earthy, organic woodland setting for your celebrations, boho wedding hair accessories featuring blossom and botanical motifs are the perfect match. I’d recommend my Elise waterfall veil bridal headpiece and Willow droplet hair vine for a delicate detailed look, or my branch-inspired Rosemary hair vine for a nymph style flower crown look.
Festival style tipis are a popular wedding setting for laid back boho couples - and in my opinion, one of the coolest! The Anastasia and Coralie bridal hair vines are awesome options for this venue and give off modern flower-power feels when worn across the forehead. Both also work effortlessly with naturally curly hair.
And, finally, for those bohemian beauties whose hearts belong to the ocean, only a chilled coastal or beach setting will do. Whether a UK-based or destination wedding, my gorgeous Selena vine would be my top pick for those saying their “I dos” by the shore. I can just imagine its sparkling crystals glinting in the sunshine and reflecting the water’s edge whilst its soft ribbons trail in the sea breeze. Pure boho wedding hair accessory perfection!
